&.Porcelain Charade
&.As the skies began to gray and fill with droplets of rain, a lone being trotted gallantly. His large hooves beat the ground in a rhythmic manner and his mane and tail flowed in the breeze that was blowing through the plains. Thunder cracked overhead, signaling that a storm was about to come soon. The stallion hated water, for it was responsible for taking his parents from him, as well as other herd members. Porcelain Charade, which was what he was called, was just trying to find a place to settle down for a while.
&.Memories were occupying his thoughts, ones that were near and dear to him, but the Gypsy Vanner tried not to think about those often. They just made him cringe on the inside and broke his happy-go-lucky spirit. Charade came to the ridge of a grassy hill and stopped. His almond brown eyes scanned the territory for any signs of life whatsoever. But he was unsuccessful, this place was completely vacant. There were no colts and fillies running around, or mares watching over them. Also, this place was void of stallions too. That was divine, simply and utterly divine. Charade was looking for a place to start all over again without being harassed. This seemed to be the perfect place.
&.Raising up on his hind hooves, Porcelain Charade thrashed his forehooves in the sky in the standard manner and meanwhile, he gave a tenor-pitched neigh as well. "I claim these lands in the name of Porcelain Charade, to be master, guardian and leader to those that follow. I will do my best to be just and civil to those that follow in my harem," it said. As he did so, another crack of thunder reverberated on the lands. The Vanner tossed his mane and returned all four hooves to the ground with a snort.
&.Raindrops began to fall on the stag's furred pelt and shower him heavily. His mane, feathers, and tail began to get crinkled and wet Lifting his muzzle to the air, Porcelain Charade took it all in. In doing this, he somehow felt connected to his family. Finally the beast folded his legs beneath his frame and just waited for the storm to pass. His rounded ears folded back on his cranium, and his eyes closed . The only sign of life that came from the stallion was the steady rise and fall of his shoulders as he breathed. Charade was one who liked the sunshine, not the rain, and he hoped that this downpour wouldn't last a long duration.
